The certificate is available for qualified learners who have successfully completed a course. There are two types of completion requirements: Some courses ask to mark at least 90% of steps as complete, and some ask to mark at least 90% of steps as complete and have an overall course score of at least 70%.

Induction: First day

induction that includes;

✔ Support in choosing the right course.

FutureLearn Course:

✔ Do the online course via the FutureLearn app through the week independently on your chosen course at school or at home. Online study isn’t monitored. We recommend a minimum of 3 hours self-study per week.

✔ Students have access to FutureLearn for the length of their EC x FutureLearn course.

Follow up Fridays

✔ Group class dedicated to FutureLearn led by EC teacher.

✔ Tips and ideas to help make the most of the site.

✔ Reflection on learning.

✔ Discuss learning with others – a great way to help embed what has been learnt.

✔ Review any problems or issues.

✔ Review goals, and set new ones, a process that ensures students stay motivated to make the very best use of the resource.

Sen den grundades 1982, har EC Brighton engelskspråkiga skolan fått internationellt rykte för kvalitetsundervisning och utmärkta lärare. Skolan inkluderar trådlös internetuppkoppling och ett multimedia rum för email och internet. Vänliga lärare ger utmanande men roliga lektioner i en avslappnad miljö. Det finns ett bibliotek med ett studieområde och den mysiga cafeterian är en utmärkt plats att träffa andra studenter och träna din engelska. Cafeterian erbjuder olika snacks och varma måltider. "Impressive experience in a beautiful city"

The teachers are very sympathetic and we have some great moments. All the staff are pleasant as well.

NO SE TRABAJÓ PRÁCTICAMENTE NADA LA EXPRESIÓN ESCRITA PARA LO CUAL, EN MI OPINIÓN, SE PODRÍA HABER UTILIZADO EL TIEMPO LIBRE, CON CORRECCIÓN POR EL PROFESOR. LA CASA ESTABA LEJOS DE LA CIUDAD Y LA FAMILIA, AUNQUE CORRECTA, NO HACÍA NINGÚN ESFUERZO POR AYUDAR EN EL IDIOMA. "3 weeks in England"

I went to Brighton for 3 weeks. It was very nice. I met a lot of new friends from all over the world. I learned a lot about a new country and other cultures. My English is also much better than before. :) It's just my 3th year learning English and I can speak and read and write so much. The classes were very funny and I met some other people from my country, too. The teachers were very friendly and they explained everything exactly so that the whole class understood it. The locations were ok. The PUB was a meeting-point for the students. Most of the activities were good. I liked to go to the cinema and to watch some films in English (Harry Potter & Cars 3). The food at the school was sometimes not so good but it was ok. The host family, where I lived was very far from school. That was sometimes a little problem. The family was very nice and we had a lot of fun together. So I really liked the trip to England, Brighton. I also liked when we went one Saturday to London, which was amazing.

"This magic trip"

It was my third time in England that's why I knew what to expect from the trip. I liked the place where the school was situated, I mean the town, Brighton. What for disadvantages, I can name the morning way from residence to the school building. It took 15 mins by bus. After two weeks in residence I moved to a host family. That was a real experience for me. I suppose the time I have spent with them helped me to improve my speaking and listening abilities. By the way, I still keep in touch with my host family. As for activities, I would say that the list of them is too short. I would add some more excursions. Apart from all the disadvantages of the programme I gave been to, I made lots of friend and enjoyed the time.

"Breathtaking"

I want to thank you very much for organising such an educational and cheerful trip at the same time. I liked the location of the school (just next to central park), the host family, my group, of course. The way of studying in KAPLAN aspect includes having fun and working on grammar. I think that it is because I had vacation english program but I liked it. Anyway I would like to come back again!

You will enjoy all the comforts of home life: security, comfort and home cooked food, plus, you will benefit from a unique cultural experience. In addition, you will be able to use your English in a natural environment outside of the classroom.

Brighton homestay consists of mixed gender twin and single room accommodation. If you choose twin room accommodation. then expect to be placed with a student of a different nationality but you can also choose to share with a friend. Each room will provide you with storage space for clothes, a chair and desk (if not in the bedroom, you will be able to use a designated area for studying) as well as good lighting, mirror, waste paper bin. Bed linen and towels are provided by the host family and they will also offer you one clothes wash per week. Anything extra is at the discretion of the host family. Drying and ironing facilities will also be made available to you.

Whilst staying in a host family you will have access to communal rooms such as the lounge, dining area and kitchen. Most students will not be able to use the cooking facilities and each family will advise the student on what a student has access to in the kitchen. Bathrooms will be shared with the host family.

You can choose between half board and bed and breakfast. If you choose half board, then you can expect to have breakfast and evening meals with the host family from Monday to Sunday. Breakfast can vary from one homestay to another and is usually provided on a self-service basis and will include cereals, toast, coffee and tea. Evening meals for most of the time will be with the host family and students will eat what the family eats.

If you request bed and breakfast, your host family will provide breakfast only and you will at most be able to use the kettle and microwave in the kitchen and should not expect to be able to use the cooking facilities.

Some of you may have allergies to food or prefer a vegetarian diet, or in some cases simply not like a particular food. It is important that this information is shared and made available on the booking form, so that the best host family match can be found for you.

The accommodation offers two types of rooms: single rooms in a shared flat and private studios.

Each of our single rooms comes with a small double bed, loads of storage & workspace and your own ensuite shower room. Rooms have 15sqm of floor space. Plus, you and your 3 – 7 flatmates will have access to the shared kitchen and living room, fitted with a TV.

Our studios come with a small double bed, loads of workspace & storage, ensuite shower room and your own mini-kitchen. Plus, there is 19sqm of floor space.

Miscellaneous
Cleaning service available on demand. £25 for single room or £30 studio. Bed linen cleaning can be booked for £6.60, paid directly to the residence. Kitchens and corridors are cleaned weekly. Studios are cleaned monthly. Common areas of the residence, including all social areas and gym, are cleaned daily.
Bedding and bed linen are included. Towels are not, please bring your own.
Students needing assistance (outside of office hours) for locking their keys inside their room will incur a £25 charge per callout.
There are 4 coin operated washing machines and 3 dryers available at a cost of £3.60 per wash and £2.10 per dry. The students need to buy their own cleaning materials.
Luggage drop-off service not available.
Kitchen utensils are provided (pots, pans, fridge, cooktop, kettle, cooking utensils).

Vi kan inte ansöka om visum för studenter. Dock kan skolan försörja dig med all dokumentation du behöver för att stödja din visumansökan.

Om du studerar i Storbritannien över 11 månader, så kommer du att få ett referensnummer kallat Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) som du överlämnar till Brittiska ambassaden tillsammans med din allmänna studentvisumansökan. Studenter som framgångsrikt har bokat en språkkurs och betalat avgifterna kommer att få ett CAS från EC Brighton. Var vänlig notera att Brittisk lag säger att CAS enbart tilldelas studenter som planerar att studera engelska i över 11 månader.

Om du studerar i Strobritannien i 11 månader eller mindre, så måste du ansöka om ett speciellt besöksvisum som kallas Student Visitor Visa. Som en besökande student, kan du inte arbeta på halvtid samtidigt som du studerar. Om du planerar att studera i Storbritannien i 11 månader eller mindre, så kommer ett antagningsbrev skickas till din hemadress via vanlig post utan kostnad.
