Kids & Teens Holiday German Course

I came to ILS to lean German B2, and over the course of four weeks I believe large progress have been done. Before I started, I only knew some basics, and I wasn't confident enough to speak, but after the lessons at ILS I can understand much more in daily scenarios, and also have the confidence to start talking to others in German as well. My teacher, Ms Emily Schneider, was teaching in a simple and efficient way. Nothing was made complicated such as grammar, and the homework helped me a lot to remember the harder bits. We had some changes in our schedule and had to communicate to fix some conflicts in time, but the school was very quick and flexible to change everything. Overall, I'd say this was a great learning experience, and I got a lot from it. I'd like to say thanks to the ILS as well as Ms Emily Schneider. Thank you!

The teacher, Tamara, is very nice. She has a great experience in teaching German. She has a lot of patience, and she can use different ways to let everyone understand it. What a wonderful teacher! The location of ILS is good. It is not far from the tram station. However, the cost of the course may be mildly expensive. Overall, it is a nice experience in learning German.

ILS is in an amazing place in Bern, near the wonderful city center and not far away from the station. I really appreciated the low number of students in the class, so we all had the opportunity to speak a lot improving faster. The super-intensive course that I followed was veeery intensive, but it worths all the pain! Teachers and all the ILS’ staff were absolutely nice and made my time in Bern unforgettable!

I really liked the fact that we were in small classes. It was a change from the school, where there are a lot more of us. I find that it gives a more personalized follow-up in learning a language, and it forces you to participate! I have the impression that I speak to others much more easily in a language other than my mother tongue, even if I realize that I make mistakes.
I also enjoyed meeting other people, who are not necessarily there for the same reason as me, who are not the same age as me. It was very rewarding in that respect too.
I loved our outing at the Tierpark. It allowed me to get out of the books and learn something else, for example the names of the animals, other than "the dog" and "the cat".

My personal experience with the school itself was very good. I had an excellent teacher for A1 and I enjoyed the smaller class size. We had the maximum number of students in my class (6). The location of the school is very convenient. It is easy to walk or take public transportation to get there. The school does host some events for students although you have to check the bulletin boards in each building to see what events are happening. There is also a brunch once a month that is scheduled for students to interact with one another. For our class this brunch wasn't ever scheduled at a good time. For example, the last one was right before we took our final test and stressed a few people out. Overall, I would recommend this school.

I have good experience in the school. Especiall Peter is a very good teacher. She told us not only the German but also the culture about the Switzerland.
However, I passed A1 in China 2 years ago. and have not chance to use it. Therefore, begin in A2 is a little difficult for me.
So, I should thanks to Peter, she is really very nice. She encouraged me "keep going". Now I will try my best to pass A2 next weekend.

The classes was very good but one people spoke very much but it's not your fault. The teacher was excellent, she learns very good because she explained a lot. When weren't a lot in the class and we were able to learn a lot. Every day a took the train it was hard but it was okey. The place of the building was correct. it wasn't near the train station. I had this school during my holiday in the morning and the afternoon i can do something with my friends it was very cool. In conclusion the course was very very good but someone was doing that you couldn't learn properly.

The School is good and the teacher was kind.
But some classmates were always commenting and speaking, so that the course progressed slowly and I did not really feel that I improved a lot my German.

I was the only student in my class so it was like a one to one and very helpful.
The teacher was very nice and good at explaining.
The location was easy to reach by means of transport and I didn't do any activities apart from visit the museum by myself.
I lodged at my cousin's house so it was perfect like being at home.

The timing of the classes was a bit awkward as it was at 12pm. It would have been better first thing in the morning so I would have been free in the afternoon.

The teacher was really good, she took the time to explain everything about grammar and always took the time to answer our questions. I had the opportunity to do 2 activities outside of class but I find it really good that allowed us to know each other a little more and talk about free topics because we have a few topics more imposing when you have to do oral exercises. I find this school really good and will recommend it to relatives.

I was happy with the class. The teacher was helpful. I wished I could be there longer but I had to return home to the U.S

The class sizes were small so it was good for interaction with the teacher. The staff were friendly and very nice. The location was good, near the center of Bern and also beside the Historical museum of Bern, with good public transport. I would say the school itself could have had a separate common room or small canteen for cheaper drinks or snacks - but there were at least two vending machines with hot drinks.

Alll was good. The students should know before coming the course that learning is not only the ILS..

School location is easy accessible and all the teachers that I met are nice and patient. Secretaries at front desk are friendly and supportive and always reply to my requests promptly and clearly. The activities are in a wide range and could help students to learn each other and know more about Switzerland, especially about Bern. Having said that, if the group size could be strictly restricted to 2-6 people for group course, the teaching quality will be even better.

Apart from all above, I also took the English preparation private courses with Andrea. That was a really wonderful experience! She is an English native speaker and a very informative and sympathetic teacher. During the classes, she could respond all my questions in a very clear way. The materials that she provided were also to the point. Before taking the course, I doubted if I could improve my speaking and writing (which were my weaknesses) in a short time, however, in the end I greatly improved these skills and the test result exceeded my expectation.

Last but not least, she is very nice and kind teacher as well. I appreciated her teaching and highly recommended this teacher!

I studied German language at ILS since June and I have already reached level B2 thanks to their method and the good and available teachers. All the staff is very nice and professional and they also organise extra activities for the students.
Besides, I've met a lot of wonderful people!
I highly recommend this school if you want to improve your language skills in a short time! The best in Bern!

I visited an intensive course from A1 to B2 and was very satisfied with the school and its services. I had two different teachers, they were both very helpful. We usually had trips to the city, visited some museums and the parliament house, what I liked a lot. It help me to practice my German with other classmates.

The location of the school is excellent.

I didn`t need a accommodation of the school.

I loved taking German lessons at ILS. First, for 5 weeks we were only two, which allowed us to progress quickly. The teacher made us talk a lot, which was great. She was young and dynamic, the current immediately passed between her and us. The atmosphere was so good.

At the location of the school, it was perfect, very easy to get to because a tram is right outside. At the activity level, we went for a coffee and it was very nice, but otherwise we did not do any activity in the city of Bern. I find it a bit unfortunate because it seems to me that this is something they proposed basic.

I did not rent a room with ILS so I have nothing to say on the subject.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed the experience and learned a lot.
