I liked meeting at the cafes and how my instructor went about teaching the class. She balanced the class really well between our talking and applying activities with our grammar and vocab. Overall great experience. The only thing i would have like is to have more teachers so we the progression from one class to the next wasn’t so harsh.

The class consisted of people wanting to learn Spanish, there was minimum talking in other language. The teacher had material and schedule for a week. Everything well prepared.
I liked the fact the cafeterias in Mexico allow groups of people using theirs facilities for lessons. Unfortunately there was not always sufficient space or it was too loud, due to many customers or music playing.
Private classes were very intensive, i learned a lot.
I took a one week course with Walk Spanish and firstly a shout out to my teach (Diana) who was really great, kept class fun and interesting and even had us laughing over grammar. We really wanted to take another course but we left the areas where they were.\The combo of the lesson and then a little tour at the end prevents it from feeling to much like you're back at school, and we had some locations that really surprised me as to how amazing they were - so top marks!

The construction of the course, with two hours of exercises in a café followed by two hours of visiting a place (museum, park, monument, market...) while conversing in Spanish, is ideal. Changing your meeting place every day allows you to discover charming places.
As we are about five students per course, even if the homogeneity of the groups varies a little, everyone can progress according to their starting level.
It is an ideal formula to progress in Spanish and discover the city.
We had our own housing and there was no building, but the private teachers were excellent. It was difficult to correspond with the school and that was a problem. Actually we were not sure the teachers would meet us at the set time and place, nor who they were and how we'd connect, as we'd had no response from the school after we sent off our pre-exam. It is a novel idea that works well. We'd meet in a cafe or park, walk some and talk which was our main goal. My teacher, Valeria, was flexible, open to what my needs were, allowed me to speak without interruption, then clearly helped to identify problem areas. She was easy to understand and she adjusted her pace to my level. My friend also had her individual tutor, and we'd talk over the day's lessons afterwards. I was very happy with my instruction, and the time spent with Valeria went very fast. It is much easier to understand the podcasts I listen to in Spanish since we returned. And we felt motivated to speak Spanish to Uber drivers and others we met. Mexico City is a beautiful city with so much to do and see, and we did not encounter many English speakers which was helpful.

The teachers were youthful, funny and were open for everyone's questions which impacted the ambiance of the course in a very positive way. We revised issues of the language that caused problems in all of us having conversations and broke down the barriers of trusting ourselves with the language. However, I would've wished for a bit more of an encouragement by the teachers to have conversations in Spanish during the actual "Walking"-parts of the course because whenever a break occurred people, including the teachers, switched back to English when I wished to learn more to jump over my shadow and have casual conversation in as much Spanish as I knew. Especially in a B1-course, taking directions and making basic conversation in Spanish should be possible, so a little bit more of a push by the teachers would've been nice.
I enjoyed the size of the course because it was possible for everyone to engage in the course without people being left out or feeling overseen. Mostly, I also enjoyed the ambiance of learning in cafés - however I think it would be nice if beforehand the teaches would evaluate how noisy it can get in certain cafés. If e.g. a television right in the back of the table is playing the world cup and the volume is up, it makes it a bit harder to focus on the conversation within the course. Otherwise, I honestly appreciated the attempt to make the course seem more casual.
All in all, I really enjoyed the course, the input of seeing some new spots in the city, the engagement of the teachers in the process and the revision of language content.
We really enjoyed walk Spanish. The classes were the perfect level for us, and the perfect length. 4 hours a day is enough time to cover a good amount of material and make progress in 1 week, however any longer would be too tiring!
We enjoyed going to different cafes around Mexico City, only suggestion would be to avoid Starbucks if possible, there are so many great independent cafes in Mexico City, it seems a shame to visit Starbucks.
As we were in a beginner group, we did not do much walking as such, but this was to be expected and did not surprise us, however perhaps may be worth communicating this to prospective students so that they don’t expect to be in museums etc in the first few weeks.
Our teach (Saul) was fantastic, extremely helpful and encouraging and very knowledgeable - a great teacher!
Did a week long class in Mexico City. The teacher was solid, and I enjoyed the group. I got quite a bit of conversation practice, which is what I wanted. For my purposes, a 4 hour class was too long. I had hoped it would be a combo class with tourist activities, but the "walk spanish" moniker is inaccurate-you spend about 3 hours in a café followed by a short side trip to a park, bookstore or market. The class is very inexpensive for the amount of class time you get, but in terms of learning, and tourist/learning balance, I would have been better served by an hour of a private lesson, and then getting out and about.

I liked the different cafes we were in but sometimes was a café very loudly and it was difficult to hear my classmates and my teachers.
I liked the social activities I did with my teachers and classmates. I liked the lunch on Friday 10 December and the walk in Coyoacan on Friday 17 December. My teachers Teresa and Saul were very friendly. I liked their way of teaching. They explained all the items very well.
I really enjoyed the class and the immersion across the city. The setting was fantastic! My teacher, Teresa, was also very nice and encouraging, the undivided attention as a solo student made me feel really good about my experience and I was able to practice and digest a lot.
I didn't experience the facilities - I met my instructor mostly at cafes and restaurants and I wish I had more time to do activities that were specifically of interest to me, but overall I love the experience.
I was surprised that our first meeting point was at Starbucks .(haha) But I understood why. Because we never studied at the school. Every day we changed the place to study and we could discover several places in the town! It was very fun for me.But unfortunately we couldn’t do it anymore from the second week because of Covid-19. Instead, they gave us online lesson. Before beginning this online lesson,I was worry because it was the first time to try it. Finally it was going well! My teacher Ana, she was always trying to explain in Spanish, even though my Spanish was very poor. She used English at minimum when I really didn’t understand. It was very good for me! I’m feeling to improve my Spanish. And I want to come back, after this situation may be settled well.

I liked going to the parks and coffee shops for classes.
The places we met that I couldn’t walk to I enjoyed but it was easier after I got comfortable using the Uber .
I read before I went on the trip that we would go to markets and an excursion each week. We did not.
I signed up for 2 weeks of classes but I completed 1 week.
I didn’t go all that way not to see Mexico City. Just having the afternoon free after 1 and then needed to eat and be back to my room before dark wasn’t enough time for me.
Learning Spanish is a hobby for me ; I live in an area that I won’t use it.
So saying all this, this wasn’t a big deal to change my itinerary.
I wouldn’t change anything, met and enjoyed the classes I had.
I said no below but it depends what your objective is and how important it is to you to learn Spanish.
Anna, my teacher for two weeks was a really good professor, she was patient and fun. The other classmates were also really nice and we all had a fairly even language level. Going to cafes every morning in different parts of the city is great then moving to parks, museums, libraries...allowed me to also get much more understanding of the Mexican culture. Highly recommended!
Visa detaljer » Läs mer...I really enjoyed the classes. The concept is really good for someone who wants to discover the city while learing the language.
Perhaps what I dislike what the fact that when you arrived your have to jump on the bangwagon and you don't get a rehearsal of what the other students did the weeks before. Some students arrived two weeks before you and it might not be interesting for them to come back again each week to the same lessons. And the opposite as well. New students want to learn from what other students studied the week before. So it is some time frustrating.
Another weak point is that some of the locations are extremely noisy or sometimes very cold. It is not ideal for studying. So the students had to ask the teachers to move to other places. It would have been also good to visit some museums and to learn more (in spanish) about the history of the city/country rather than only sitting in a starbuck doing gramar (although it is important as well too :) ).
Anyway i would definitively recommanded walk spanish to my friend and I'll do it again next time I visit Mexico.
I also really enjoyed staying in the family. It was this kind of immersion that I was looking for.
I really enjoyed the course, teachers are qualified, the methodology applied is perfect, suits perfectly to any level

Visa detaljer » Läs mer...In general, I enjoyed my experience with Mexico City Walkspanish, because I think I learned new things while I already have a very good level. My main negative point is the initial rating test, because it has created some apprehensions even before starting classes. Indeed, I find it is poorly constructed, some questions are irrelevant or expectations are confusing and missing several accents, which does not give a very professional first impression. It would be relevant to include more grammar elements, a clear gradation in the difficulty level of the questions and potentially an oral comprehension section.
For the rest, I found interesting the concept of classes outside and including visiting various places. Some places were a little less suitable than others (space, noise), but all in all going to a coffee shop for the grammar part, then in a park for the conversation part worked well. Moreover, I feel that the time allocated for each section was adequate. For Thursday outings, it would be interesting to have a bank a little more exhaustive (at least 4 different places), for people who take several weeks of classes.
In this regard, although I have enjoyed my experience, I do not think I would have continued, because the instability of the groups, due to the fact that students come and go constantly, makes progress difficult. As I was rather advanced, I felt that I began to do a little over-the-end, because the new ones did not master the elements we had seen the previous weeks. It is therefore difficult for the teacher to adjust his teaching at different levels. Fortunately, the groups are small enough to offer a more personalized education. Also, I found that all the teachers seemed competent, flexible and pleasant.
Finally, I do not believe that the purchase of the book is relevant because it is not used in class. Moreover, I was given the wrong book (lower level) since they did not have the one of my level, which is even less relevant.

Visa detaljer » Läs mer...We took the private family course, met every day for a week for four hours out in the city. The teacher was thoughtful to consider what we wanted to learn and practice together. My daughter and I had very different needs in learning and practicing Spanish and Yulma did an amazing job getting us what we both needed. She was gracious, fun and enthusiastic and knew a lot about the language. I would highly recommend her to anyone I know wanting to learn intensively.
Visa detaljer » Läs mer...I appreciate the effort my teacher Clau put both during the class and after by staying after class with us to take us for tacos and Mexican snacks. The teaching allowed me to visit several locations and neighborhoods while learning Spanish, which was good because I had a limited time of 2 weeks. I wish I had stayed more but I'm overall satisfied by the class. School offers housing though I booked an Airbnb in Polanco. Try mezcal and ask to learn local slang which is super cool.
Visa detaljer » Läs mer...I find the school methodology a plus as a traveler. The school offers Spanish courses in different points like museums, art galleries, cafes and more as locations. Learning is interactive I could say since its through activities, a book and the venues themselves for instance we had class in a supermarket. My teacher Clau was really good and motivational. I fully recommend Walk Spanish.
